Manston Court Lift Shaft
Mountjoy was awarded a project by Capita / Southampton City Council in February 2016 for the removal of an old lift and installation of a new external lift at Manston Court social housing block.
Manston Court is a three floor residential supported housing block in the Lordshill area of Southampton. The construction works started in October 2016 and are due to run until May 2017.

31 October 2016Site SetupTime to make our first impressions on the project and set up where our construction team will be based during the works.

02 November 2016Enabling WorksThe site required the strip out of windows and doors and tiling so that we can start our works.

14 November 2016New Road DiggingDigging for the new access road has begun and our team have been fitting steels to the new openings

19 February 2017First Floor ScaffoldThe scaffolding is now at first floor level to provide access for the lift lobby.

13 April 2017First Fix ElectricalThe first fix electrical and ducting installations for the lift are both underway.
The rendering is being carried out to the exterior of the lift shaft.

05 May 2017First Floor Lift LobbyThe lift lobbies are nearing completion.

13 June 2017Lift Goes LiveNow the lift has been commissioned and the final electrical works have been completed, the last touch ups are in progress and the old lift can be decommissioned.

Project Completion
The lift is now being fully used by residents, the old lift has been decommissioned and the access road has finished being landscaped.
